Hypnotherapy Myths

There are many myths about the state of Hypnosis, such as;

  • 'you don't remember a thing afterwards'
  • 'you are under the power of the hypnotist'
There's a great expectation about how hypnosis feels when you're 'under'.

Once a person has been hypnotised by a professional therapist, these myths are soon dispelled.

Hypnosis is a state of deep state of relaxation, where the mind in focused on one point, and allowing free movement of information.

Free Introductory Consultation;

So what could you expect from that first visit to the Hypnotherapist?

Most IAH therapists offer the initial consultation free, this is to establish what type of therapy you require, what your symptoms are and some background information. We will then book an appointment for either therapy.

For the first session, I would talk to you about your particular symptom prior to the hypnosis it's self; we may talk for half an hour then move straight into the hypnosis, now we both know what we're after & this way I am able to tailor the positive suggestions & visualisations to your needs so you gain the maximum outcome.

You will then be hypnotised and will be alert & responsive throughout. Time may pass by without you realising as there is a time lapse whilst in hypnosis, but you will have absorbed the positive suggestions, if any given, within your subconscious memory and it will have taken affect on you, leaving you really positive and really relaxed & calm about whatever it was that you consulted for, be it smoking cessation, fear of flying or weight control etc.
